Places to visit in MARRADI
MARRADI, inspired the great poet Dino Campana, and today offers to its visitors many attractions. Here below there is a list of interesting places.
ABBEY OF S. REPARATA IN SALTO'S (BADIA DEL BORGO)
This monastic complex was built in the 11th century and it has been rebuilt many times: inside the sytyle is baroque but the facade and the bell tower mantain the originary Romanesque aspect.
THEATRE OF ANIMOSI
This theatre was founded at the end of 1700; it has been seat
of the Animosi Academy till 1938. From 1970 to 1997 it has been
closed because it was unfit for use. Now it opens only sometimes
for particular celebrations such as those dedicated to Dino
Campana, the poet born in Marradi. The opening of the hall coincided
with a new period of its activity: exhibitions, meetings, dance
school, theatre lab, recording hall, disco and cinema.
PIAZZA DELLE SCALELLE
The central square is a meeting place but also an interesting
place from the artistical point of view. In fact, there are
palaces built in different centuries: from the 17th century
Fabbroni Palace, to the 19th century Credito
Romagnolo Palace
in neomedieval style.
